Week 44

Taught a family from LaFayette! Super sweet lesson! One guy was getting drunk, but the spirit was soo powerful that he said he even felt it and that he hadn't felt it in a long time. He said he could tell something  was different! :D haha. Super great lesson. We taught in pretty bomb unity as well!

I shared a little about this on skype... but i want to share it again

1 Nephi 16:10-23 

10 And it came to pass that as my father arose in the morning, and went forth to the tent door, to his great astonishment he beheld upon the ground a round ball of curious workmanship; and it was of fine brass. And within the ball were two spindles; and the one pointed the way whither we should go into the wilderness. **(follows Liahona!)

11 And it came to pass that we did gather together whatsoever things we should carry into the wilderness, and all the remainder of our provisions which the Lord had given unto us; and we did take seed of every kind that we might carry into the wilderness.

12 And it came to pass that we did take our tents and depart into the wilderness, across the river Laman.

13 And it came to pass that we traveled for the space of four days, nearly a south southeast direction, and we did pitch our tents again; and we did call the name of the place Shazer.

14 And it came to pass that we did take our bows and our arrows, and go forth into the wilderness to slay food for our families; and after we had slain food for our families we did return again to our families  in the wilderness, to the place of Shazer. And we did go forth again in the wilderness, following the same direction, keeping in the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which were in the borders near the Red Sea. **(follows liahona!)

15 And it came to pass that we did travel for the space of many days, slaying food by the way, with our bows and our arrows and our stones and our slings.

16 And we did follow the directions of the ball, which led us in the more fertile parts of the wilderness. **(follows liahona!)

17 And after we had traveled for the space of many days, we did pitch our tents for the space of a time, that we might again rest ourselves and obtain food for our families.

18 And it came to pass that as I, Nephi, went forth to slay food, behold, I did break my bow, which was made of fine steel; and after I did break my bow, behold, my brethren were angry with me because of the loss of my bow, for we did obtain no food. **(In this verse, it doesn't say that Nephi follows the Liahona..doesn't inquire of the Lord for help and bad things happen. he breaks his bow! how does one break a bow of STEEL? Still pondering on that!!! any ideas?)

19 And it came to pass that we did return without food to our  families, and being much fatigued, because of their journeying, they did suffer much for the want of food.

20 And it came to pass that Laman and Lemuel and the sons of Ishmael did begin to murmur exceedingly, because of their sufferings and afflictions in he wilderness; and also my father began to murmur against the Lord his God; yea, and they were all exceedingly sorrowful, even that they did murmur against the Lord. **(First time that Lehi complains against the Lord and murmurs.)

21 Now it came to pass that I, Nephi, having been afflicted with my brethren because of the loss of my bow, and their bows having lost their springs, it began to be exceedingly difficult, yea, insomuch that we could obtain no food.

22 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did speak much unto my brethren, because they had hardened their hearts again, even unto complaining against the Lord their God.

23 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did make out of wood a bow, and out of a straight stick, an arrow; wherefore, I did arm myself with a bow and an arrow, with a sling and with stones. And I said unto my father: Whither shall I go to obtain food? **(Nephi does his part and then includes his father in the work instead of doing it all himself! He has recieved tons of Revelation in the first 15 chapters, he doesnt have to inclued his father... But, he does! he does it so that hes involved and wanted.)

24 And it came to pass that he did inquire of the Lord, for they had humbled themselves because of my words; for I did say many things unto them in the energy of my soul. **(The father is included and does his part. he feels needed and that he now has a purpose. he repents for murmuring and then goes to work!)

Week 43

Monday- after emails, we had lunch, cleaned the apt, and then went and played pool and balled at the rec center! Then after we got cleaned up we had dinner at brother Haake's. Then we had a good lesson at I's with a guy as a member present! lol. Great time.

Tuesday- did service at FHL and then had lunch, Spanish study, and comp study at the apt. Taught J and read from the BOM with him. Then we taught JW at the FHC! Great time!!! I made breakfast for dinner at the apt. Then we had a meeting at the church to find out what less actives we could visit. Then played volleyball. Fun night.

Wednesday- Elder Malm was sick! So, me and Elder Humphrey cleaned the apt. Then we ate lunch. Elder Humphrey went with Spanish and taught a Spanish lesson. Me and Elder Malm went finding on the north side of town. I got hit by a water bottle at 40mph.... Elder Pawlak... -_- im alright tho. I was ticked! Haha. Found a few people and then tried by a few less actives. Then we had dinner at the Brown's. Great time! Then we did family history and had Spanish study. The assistants stayed with us.

Thursday- had zone conference! President Heap always blows my mind!! Then we helped a guy move before dinner at the Fairbanks. Shes' gonna teach us how to make ties!!! Then we went to basketball with brother Freston. Great time overall. :D the assistants stayed with us again.

Friday- Ran with the Heaps and others! Great morning!! Sis Mortensen brought us breakfast burritos!!! :D super great! Had interviews at the chapel. Then we ate lunch and had comp study. Then weekly planned. Then had a lesson with the B's. Great time! The little girl, M, is super smart!! Then we had dinner at the McCallisters. Went finding less actives, but we ended up contacting! It turned out great!

Saturday- Elder Malm was sick again. So was Elder Fernandez.... so we did an exchange! Me, Elders Humphrey, Bollwinkel, Guttierrez, and Pawlak did service at the zoo. Clean the mule deer cage of a specific cactus and got to pet the deer!!! super fun!! Then we had a lesson with JW at the FHC. Then did family history. Ate Tokyo with Brother Pruitt. Super fun and funny!! Then had a lesson with C with R as a member present! Boss lesson. I held a little dog in the air so it would be still for about 1/2 the lesson!! lol. Sooooo funny. Then had some Spanish study.

Sunday- had corrolation and church! I bore my testimony. Super great fast!! Then we tried by a few people and ended up setting up appts for later this week! :D great time over all! Then we had a companionship study. Role played district meeting. Then we had dinner at Bishop McCutcheons! Great time. Got some sweet pics! :D haha. Then we came back and had Spanish study.

Monday- Woke up and did some laundry and then went exploring at the caverns with Brother Horrocks!! It was super super awesome!!! :D now here!

Week 42

Monday- after emails, we had lunch, cleaned the apt, and then went and balled at the rec center! Then after we got cleaned up we had dinner at brother Doniven Anderson's with I and taught I! Then we had Spanish study. Great time.

Tuesday- had district meeting. Was super awesome! Then we ate lunch and started our exchange. Elder Fernandez came to my area with me. We knocked, tried to contact a referral, and taught lessons to JH and JR. Was super boss. We ate dinner at the Barney's and brother Barney taught me how to do a back handspring on the tramp! Then went to volleyball and had a great time.

Wednesday- did service at FHL and finally got that place caught up! Great day!! ton of work got done! Then we had exchange review. And lunch. Then I got my comps back. We had a comp study and then taught I about the plan of salvation and temples. Really sweet! Brother Horrocks picked us up and we ate dinner with them. Then had Spanish study. Busy day.

Thursday- did backhandspring with spotters at the river. Then did service at FHL and then had lunch. Then we did service at A's. It was alright. Elder Malm taught her about the Book of Mormon while I mowed the grass and weedeated.... the other 3 elders goofed off..... but, all is well lol. I know whats right so, I did it! :D Then we weekly planned and got cleaned up. Brother Bennett picked us up for dinner. Had dinner there and then went to basketball. Was tons of fun!! got a few pics and videos on the zip line!

Friday- had an exchange with Lovingsbend. Me and elder Bollwinkel taught  L and his grandma, W, and also found and taught and awesome guy named E. Then had lunch, comp study, and then biked to see I. We taught him about church attendance and told him he has to come to be baptized! He told me he wants me to baptize him! :D then we biked to the North part of town and contacted a referral! Turned out great! They want us over for dinner :D. Then we had dinner at the Hansen's and then exchange review afterward! Great day.

Saturday- Had a good morning and then went to McDonald's for a milkshake to relax. A member ended up paying for us through the drive through! Super bomb!!! Then we went and filled up the font and made talks for Sunday! J.W. was baptized!! super awesome. Then we went and taught Daniel. Had Dominos for dinner!

Sunday- had correlation and church! We all gave talks! I had one on the Crucifixion. JW was confirmed!! Taught Sunday school with sister Davis. After church we ate and had lunch and then me and elder Humphrey taught K. He just tried to bash us... so, I told him what I was here for, bore my testimony, said a prayer, and we left. Elder Humphrey was getting mad and wanting to bash.... so I got us out of there!! Then we knock doors until we got picked up. Ate dinner at the K's, new members. Then we taught G with RS. Then I helped R set up a family history account! Great time! Fun day. Super busy and crazy.

Monday- Woke up and did some laundry and wrote a few letters. Then we went shopping. Now we are here emailing.

Week 41

Monday- After emails, I went back to the apt and slept for 3 hours!!! I was dead tired. Woke up to Elder Gutierrez saying, “Dude! Just give him the blessing while he's asleep! He needs it!!!!” lol. So O looked at him and told them they could give me one while I was awake. I'm glad they gave me one though! Then went and balled at the Rec. I met a guy and played pool with him. He hadn't eaten in 2 days and gave him my subway gift card so he could eat. It's tough for me to see people who struggle like that and not help them. I also taught him about the BOM. Then we got cleaned up and had dinner at the Freston's. It was a good time. Then we went and taught J W at the FHC with Adam Sullivan. He finally got ready for his interview.

Tuesday- Had district meeting. I was super sick! But, I did what I had to do!!! lol. Can't stop what won't stop!   J W passed his interview and is set for baptism!! Yay!!! Then we ate McCalister's in Artesia. Then had exchanges with ZL's in Roswell. Nothing exciting happened.... but it was a ton of fun!

Wednesday- Balled in Roswell in my vans. I did REALLY good! Lol. Idk how!!! but, my handles were tight! Lol. Super fun. :D Then finished our exchange. Did service at Salvation Army in Roswell. Was a fun time. I enjoyed it for the most part. Haha. Then we drove back and had a lesson with the Ws family. Had a good lesson on repentance. Then we at McCalisters again with Brother Anderson! Was sweet!! Then we had a lesson with I on Chasity with him! Lol. Was the BEST LESSON EVER!!!! Brother Anderson is amazing! I asked him, “Donovon, what does the Law of Chasity mean to you?” and he said, “Well, it means staying clean and pure! Then once you are married, you can have as much sex as you want with your wife, as often as you want!” lol. We all died in the lesson!! super good though. I likes him.

Thursday- Did service at FHL and then had lunch. Then we did service at Anne's. It was fun and funny. Got some cool and funny pics and videos! Lol. Great time and lots of laughs! Then we had comp study and language study. Brother Felt picked us up for dinner. Had dinner there and then went to basketball. Was tons of fun!! me and Brother Anderson taught I again and he is getting ready for baptism!! :D

Friday- weekly planned at the FHC and then had lunch. Picked up my suit from the cleaners and taught J W. Then we gave a blessing to a member. And then we had comp study and Spanish study. And then contacted a referral. :D Biked back to the apartment and then helped Brother Freston move a friend. That was fun. They got us pizza too so..... it was nice!

Saturday- Went to the temple!! I saw the Garnetts from Perryton and Elders Kay and Olmos!! Baptized some youth! One kid was named “Sigler”!!!!! lol. Sounds like Zeagler almost! Lol. Had a great day. Did 10 Initiatories too! Was exciting. Then bought 2 ties and a white shirt in Lubbock. Rode with the Barneys! Fun time. :D Long day!!!

Sunday- had correlation, ward council, and church! J W came again!! Now he is ready for baptism! After church we ate and had a comp study. Then we taught I with Matt Horrocks. Great time! Played some dunk ball too! Haha. Then we ate dinner at the Clements and then did Family history. Fun day. Super busy and long.

Monday- Woke up and did some laundry! :D Then we went shopping. Now we are here emailing.
