Week 55

Things that happened this week:

1. I made some Bomb.com RIBS!!!

2. Had another sweet DM and we went and did some sweet finding for the role play time! Elder McMaster and I  were together and we found some cool and crazy people for the sisters :D

3. Did some bomb finding and talked to a lot of people and have a ton of return appts for this week :)

4. Reset one of our investigator's baptismal dates!

5. About got in a fight with an investigator's boyfriend. He was mad that we taught his GF the law of chastity! lol. He was screaming at us and was about to punch me! But, the Lord kept us safe!!!

6. Found out that we were voted volunteers of the month for the city! So, we will be in the paper this week sometime! :D Getting our picture taken today.

7. I cut elder beans hair again because I got a cape! 

8. Did some sweet fun service with our Bishop. Then gave him a blessing because he's having surgery this week.

9. Did some sweet service in Muleshoe for members and did some fun finding. 

10. Portales' streets stink bad! The drainage is terrible here!

Just a great week! I really loved it. Working hard and it's the best and most fun ever!

Study:

So... this is one I totally came up with through the Spirit!!

Study over Alma 5:9-27 and ponder how it relates to you.

Then sit back and look at the beautiful sky and listen to "I feel my Savior's love". See how the rays of sun shine through. Imagine the Savior coming down. How would you feel? (be honest with yourself! 2 nephi 9:34). Are you ready? Then pay closer attention to the lyrics of the song and ask yourself, do you believe them? If not, decide what is wrong and how to fix it. 

This is something I struggle with. sometimes. Times get tough and I personally have a hard time believing these lyrics. It's something I'm working on still and its slowly helping me. So be patient with those you love, maybe they just need to feel truly loved.

Week 54

Things that happened:

1. Drove about 5 hours on Monday.... lol I hate Tiwi

2. Had a good district meeting as usual. 

3. Realized that I have less than a year left now!!!!!!!! CRAZY!!!

4. Had 2 exchanges with the other Elders in the district this week.

5. Taught a TON of BOMB.com lessons! Crazy amount of teaching! haha. We(Elder Lewis and I) taught like 10+ lessons on exchanges. super good!

6. Nemrows didn't have me come help with the swamp cooler installation.... so, one of their boys fell through the ceiling! hahahah. He didn't know to walk on the rafters! lol

7. Bought 2 more boxes of chips ahoy! #treatingmyself hahaha

Overall just a great busy week! Loving life and working hard. All is well with me :D

study:

Take a step back.

When I say this, I mean take a step back out of what you see life like. Picture how small we are in the grand scheme of things. Look and see how God has blessed you and how He knows you personally. Notice that we are TINY, but yet He still takes care of our needs; as well as everyone around us! He love YOU!! Don't forget it. Keep this perspective. God love all of us. We are a FAMILY! 

Realize this and it will truly change how you view everything around you!

Week 53

Highlights:

1. Had zone conference in Lubbock!

2. Blessed a house for a member.

3. Kicked soccer ball in Spanish's apt.... a little too hard! haha. So, I patched the wall and painted it! still using the skills dad taught me!!

4. Had some BOMB.COM lessons with some of our most progressing investigators!

5. Got year mark package from Faith!! #shedabest

6. Burned a shirt for my year mark! Also got a 1/2 priced sonic blast!. super good. 

7. Ate at the Carling's 2 times this week. Got some sweet license plates to decorate my study desk lol. 

8. Helped at a baptism in the Spanish branch

9. Cut my hair this past week.

10. So, I've just been enjoying myself and having the time of my life working hard! God is good and blesses those who serve with all they have. Yes.... biking in the hot sun sucks.... but, He's blessing me in ways that I'll never fully comprehend. I love how merciful and good He is to His kids.

Week 52 - 1 Year this week!

1. Spent 4th of July helping bishop do service and then we play sports and watch fireworks in Clovis! Super fun... but not like home! hahaha.

2. Went on exchanges in Lubbock. Ended up that Elder Jones and I literally chased a guy in our car who ran away from us! we got him, taught him, and set up the return apt!! #cantescapethepros!!!

3. Helped the Nemrows start to put in an ac... hence the pics hahah  I was the only one who had an idea of what was going on!! #thanksdad!!

4. We washed fire trucks and everyone gets more and more wet every time now....

5. I made dad, bros, and my boi, Dylon, each a tie! I'll be sending those home soon. 

6. Set our 4th baptismal date in the past two weeks :D #puttinginwork. My comp is slowly getting better at.....  talking... I carry the lessons right now. Puts stress on me.. but I'm helping him get better.

I've learned this week that I need to stop being hardheaded and let the Lord change me more.... I'm stubborn sometimes and don't give Him enough room to help me.... but this talk was brought back to my memory and helped me this week!

Week 51

Things that happened this week. 

1. Gma and Papa stopped in... my face when i saw them was like so...... lol 

2. Elder Field left and Elder Bean is now my companion. He's a good guy and is humble and ready to learn. He just needs to stop adjusting the thermostat.... I like it 68! He likes it higher....

3. Elder Bean and I have been going crazy!!! We set up 3 baptismal dates this week!!!

4. I've still been instructing at District Meeting. :D That is still going good. 

5. Elder Bean got a TINY cut on his hand and about passed out at a member's house.... lol. me and the member  died and kept putting up dry wall. 

6. Got service set up at the pound/animal shelter in town! So, we have tons of fun! hahaha. One crazy mean cat...

7. We had 2 bomb member presents this week. Really enjoyed all the teaching.

8. Got fed great! and being fed gave us ample opportunity to ask for service and referrals! Had an amazing week of service finding and teaching.

9. Almost all of our investigators didn't  come to church.... SMH. Satan is good.

10. The thunder this week was like huge cannon shots going off right beside you!! Super loud!! You couldn't hear yourself scream....

so i want to share a part from my setting apart blessing that helped me make the right choice in a hard decision:

"I bless you with a desire unto obedience, that you will strive to live by every word and principle of missionary life. That as you do so, therein, you will find safety and protection and the choice blessings that our Heavenly Father reserves for the obedient."

This helped me to make a decision that was tough. I've seen how the Lord has blessed me in the past and how he blesses me now already for making that decision. Be obedient and he will come through! D&C 130 :18-21
